Omaha Children's Clinic Announcements

UPDATED COVID-19 CLINIC PROCEDURES

Author: Brenda/Monday, March 16, 2020/Categories: Announcements

In light of the recent Covid-19 outbreak, effective immediately we will no longer be taking walk-in patients in the morning or the evening. Until further notice, our office hours will be 8:30am to 5pm with only scheduled patients being seen during these hours. We have extended our morning hours to accommodate for scheduled wellness checks and have plenty of afternoon appointment openings to accommodate our same day sick patients.

We have received many calls about how we are handling our appointments to minimize the spread of any illness. Here is a list of things we are doing to keep everyone safe and healthy:

-We do clean and sanitize our entire lobby hourly. Our patient rooms are cleaned and sanitized thoroughly after every patient. This cleaning includes door handles and surfaces. The entire office is cleaned nightly.

-We only see children for well check appointments in the morning, and only for sick check appointments in the afternoon. If you are asked to speak with a triage nurse prior to making an appointment, please understand it is because we are trying to determine what time may be best for your appointment based on your child's symptoms.

-Our entire patient care staff is masked to protect themselves and the patients. We understand this may cause some hesitation from your child, but we are doing our best to make it something new and fun! Many of our masks have fun patterns and characters.

-We still recommend bringing your child in for scheduled well checks. Vaccines and well care are very important to stop the spread of preventable disease.

-If your child, or anyone in your family, has any signs or symptoms of illness (i.e., fever, cough, runny nose, etc), you will be asked to put on a mask. For infants and small children that will not tolerate a mask, we ask that you cover with car seat covers or a blanket as much as possible.

-Please only bring necessary family members to any appointment. If you can, we recommend leaving siblings at home.

Please know we are doing our best to monitor this emerging illness and the health and safety of our patients and staff are our upmost priority. We appreciate your patience with us as we may experience longer than normal call volumes and response times. We will do our absolute best to respond in a timely manner. As always, if you have any questions or concerns we are available by phone at 402-330-5690.
